White Extract
When I download things of mod the sims 2 and extract it of winrar it just comes up in a white page?
When I download things from mod the sims 2.
Then I exract Here with winRar.
And when thats done its symbol at the side is just a white page and i a click on it and it says Windows can not open this file and so on
How can i actully download it from mod the sims 2?
You actually are getting the file you need. You see, the game reads those little pieces of paper even though your computer doesn't have a program that can. Now that You Can see those little pieces of paper, it's just a matter of putting them into the correct location inside of the game folders.
In Vista, you find those folders here:
Users(Current User Account)DocumentsEA GamesThe Sims 2Downloads
The location of the exact folder depends on your current user account, so make sure you're looking in the right place if you have several user accounts that show when you start your computer. You need to be using the one for the account you're logged into when you want to play the game.
There is also an EA GamesThe Sims 2 folder under Program Files. Many beginners get it mixed up and try to place their downloads in here. Downloads go in the folder inside My Documents, NOT under Program Files.
Then, once you've put the little papers in the correct location, go into your game and into the Options in the game. Click on the cog wheels and you should see something about showing the cc in the catalogs. Make sure that's checked to show it. If you have Nightlife or any later released expansion pack, then to the right of that you'll see something about showing a dialog box on startup. This is enabled by default, but you can disable it if you want, it doesn't matter. Under that there is a white star. Click on that and make sure there is a tick mark in Enable Custom content.
Now exit your game so that change takes effect, then start your game back up and you should find the cc you downloaded -- as long as you got the mesh (if it needed a mesh anyway) and you made sure it was something that should work with the expansion and/or stuff packs you have installed.
Oh, and once you have enabled the custom content in your Options, you shouldn't have to do that again. Only the first time you download custom content. Well, unless you add a new ep or sp, then you have to do it again.
