13 and not happy with my body?
I'm 13 years old and I'm sooo not happy with my body. I'm about 5'3" and I weigh 115. I am heavier than all my friends. I'm active. I do cheer and tumbling. I want a flat stomach more than anything in this world. Can someone give me a plan to start doing? I would really like to have a pretty flat stomach by this summer. Thank you so much! OH! and dont be like omg your 13 and your worried about your weight. Its not really my weight. i just hate my stomach. thank you!
Doing cardio is the best way to burn fat, and since adipose tissue tends to accumulate in the waist and the thighs, it is the best way to flatten your stomach. Anything that elevates your heart rate for an extended period of time, like jogging, cycling, swimming or hiking, will help you burn fat. Also, any sport that involves running around like basketball or soccer is great cardiovascular exercise and might be less mundane than running on a treadmill. If you're into weightlifting, muscle burns more calories than fat, so doing some light weight training might also be worthwhile. Of course, you should also make sure that you are eating a healthy diet. Try to cut back on refined carbohydrates, like white bread, pastries, and crackers and replace them with whole grains like oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and granola. Also make sure you're getting enough protein from chicken, fish, turkey, and so on, because it is filling and helps you build muscle. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also important for vitamins and minerals, and they are high in fiber so they tend to make you feel full. Whatever you do, don't starve yourself because it will make the whole experience miserable and you'll gain back any weight you lose. Just combine exercise and a healthy diet, and with hard work, patience, and persistence, you will see results.
