How many hours a day do you spend reading to your child?

Be honest and think about it. How many hours of televion does your child watch compared to how many hours you (or someone else) spend reading to them?

my kids are big readers and reading is a family priority.

we have a dedicated hour of read-aloud before bed, though with four kids it's less than that per kid (i read to my 9- and 11-year-old together, my 6-year-old separately though the 9-year-old sometimes listens in, and my 4-year-old separately). but my three older kids also easily also spend anywhere from a half hour to a few hours a day reading to themselves (depending on the day and what else is going on ... more in the summer than during the school year), and i also read to my 4-year-old at random periods throughout the day. they are allowed one hour of screen time, which includes tv, computer, and video games.
