If you were Native American, primarily one living in the west-you would know. It is used to smudge or to purify persons or objects in ritualistic ceremonies. It also used with sage. It also is considered sacred to the red man. Hierochloe odorata (sweet grass), is so holy that women may not touch the seeds. Uses also include stopping chaffing and to stop monthly bleeding. It can also be used in a suspension to cure diseases of the throat. It WILL NOT GET YOU HIGH.
It is used also in ceremonies and perfume with cedar, tobacco and sage.
