Stone Altar
Is it ok to make a Altar made of earth for God?
Exodus 20:25 - "And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it."
(Example: Stacking a pile of rocks on the ground. I'm not sure how a altar of earth would like like. Any thoughts?)

Altars were for making sacrifices to God in atonement for sins. When Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind, doing so negated the need to make daily, or monthly sacrifices on an altar. Also negating the need to have a priest approach God on our behalf. We can go directly to God in prayer on our own behalf.
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross is a permanent gift from God. All we have to do is accept the gift.
No altars. It would be likened to rejecting Jesus Christ; an abomination.
