Are the Black Veil Brides Christian, Satanic, or is the symbolism in this video a coincidence?
There are upside down stars in this video (whether they are supposed to be pinnacles or not is unclear), but at the same time, there is a virgin skeleton statue with right side up crosses, its hands in a prayer stature, and Andy Six has his hands in the prayer stature twice in the video. The song lyrics have no indication or implication of leaning towards any particular religion at all. Can anyone clear things up for me? I want a real analysis. Saying they are "Just another emo band" is not a real answer.
They really have no religious preference. I know that Andy is an atheist and that Jinxx does not believe in God though. One of their main messages is for people to be who the are regardless of religion. They don't preach to any one to be a certain religion. And with the whole virgin and prayer thing it's supposed to be ironic. That is because when a woman is marrying god she is giving her life up and she wears and black veil, so therefore she's like a black veil bride, and a wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest times in a womans life. So, Andy figured that the name was kind of ironic so he named the band Black Veil Brides. Andy has many crosses and he wears them most of the time. He grew up in a Catholic family and he also went to a Catholic school when he was younger. He is very into religion of all kinds. And for the star it's just Black Veil Brides logo multiplied a few times and put in the shape of a star. Here's their logo...
