What is this wierd dizziness?
Something traumatic happened to me Tuesday night. The next morning at about noon I woke up and I sat up. The room started spinning uncontrollablely. I couldn't get up the whole day, but even laying there my head was spinning. It felt like a weird pressure in the back of my skull, but that happens rarely. My mind felt like it was in a fog. Then the next day I worked and everything and it didn't happen too bad. Then it only happened when I went to bed. It's really bad again today and sometimes I even feel a little nauseous. I thought it was just stress and anxiety. I'm really scared. Everyone keeps saying I'm just dehydrated and need more salt. That might be true, I don't drink nearly as much water as I did in the school year. Please tell me what's going on because I'm really scared.
I am 99% sure you have vertigo or labyrinthitis which is a spinning sensation related to fluid in the inner ear generally from a virus. The vertigo or spinning can be so severe that it makes you vomit. It is like being on an amusement park ride and not being able to get off. You Can have head pressure or fullness can have ear pressure, fullness and are extremely tired and off balance. The slightest head movement or eye movement can send you spinning. To treat this over the counter you can use "Meclizine" or "Dramamine" used to control motion sickness and nausea. The inner ear problem is generally viral, so antibiotics don't help, it's just controlling the symptoms (spinning, nausea). A decongestant can help as well to rid the inner ear of fluid. The symptoms resolve as the fluid diminishes. If you are not getting relief with the medications you can buy from the drug store that I mentioned above, see your doctor, they will prescribed stronger medications to sedate you and control nausea. Hopefully you'll be better in a few days. Do not do anything dangerous like driving or bike riding, climbing on ladder until you're symptoms are completely gone...they can appear out of no where and cause you to fall and get hurt or crash a car or bike.
No it's not a panic attack and drinking fluids can't hurt, but I'm pretty sure it's your inner ear. Have your mom, dad, friend, boyfriend go to the store and get Meclizine and a decongestant like Sudafed. Scopalamine patches are also prescribed by your doctor, that are quite helpful.
Labyrinthitis Overview
Labyrinthitis means an inflammation of the inner ear structure called the labyrinth. Sometimes the term labyrinthitis refers to other causes of inner ear problems that have no inflammation because those problems produce similar symptoms.
You have a labyrinth in each of your inner ears, encased in thick bone near the base of your skull. As the name implies, the labyrinth is a maze of interconnected fluid-filled channels and canals. Half of the labyrinth, the cochlea, is shaped like a snail's shell. It sends information about sounds to the brain. The other half looks something like a gyroscope with 3 semicircular canals connected to an open cavern or vestibule. The vestibule portion of the labyrinth sends information to the brain regarding the position and movement of your head. Any disturbance of the vestibule can lead to faulty information going to your brain.
Your eyes also send positioning information to your brain. When information from the labyrinth and the eyes don't match, the brain has trouble interpreting what is happening. This misinterpreting often leads to a sensation that you are spinning (vertigo) or a feeling that you are moving when in fact you are remaining still. Feelings of motion sickness (nausea and vomiting) often follow. Sometimes you will experience hearing loss or abnormal sounds such as a high- or low-pitched ringing (tinnitus).

Depending on the cause of the labyrinthitis symptoms, the doctor likely will try one or more of the following therapies:

An antihistamine such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) or decongestant as mentioned OTC
