Is a mens shirt size in america the same as australia?
Im looking to get my partner a shirt from America. He is usually a size XXL in Australia, would it be the same size in america? I have heard that Americas sizes are bigger.. Thanks 
Mens shirts in America are sized according to neck sizes and sleeve length (in inches, of course).
{You convert, but} a 36 inch (90 cm) sleeve or longer is a TALL (person over 6 ft.)
After 20.5 inches neck size (which is usually an XL), each inch or so adds an X. You Can also add a T for tall, as in XXXLT (long and tall.) Some are also designated BIG for the rotund guy. { as in 3XB }
Maybe you can figure it out better using an international company's clothing catalog {like Sears.} with your partner's measurements in hand (unless it is a surprise).
