To ward off evil eclipse effects did you take a ritual bath in a holy lake or river and chant a special mantra?
Hindu temples are closed during an eclipse. To ward off evil, Hindus fast, take a ritual bath in the Ganges or in holy lakes and rivers, and chant a special mantra. (In advance of Wednesday’s eclipse, the district administration of Kurukshetra announced that it will provide insurance for up to a million ritual bathers in Brahma Sarovar, a particularly holy lake. Officials in Varanasi and Allahabad, other holy sites for Hindus, are also gearing up for the influx of eclipse bathers. In ancient times many feared the night and embraced the day. So many religions were wrought around the idea that Eclipse are evil and all should ward themselves against the evil that will spread when the sun is blocked out. A few religions ( Not any that believes in WWJD) still have that belief in their modern day sites of worship and in the minds of those who are bound to that or those religions.
Thanks to philosophers, astronomers and scientists those who heed science and the religions that put blinders on their disciples. They "know" that the eclipse is nothing either good or bad. Evil or holly.
For those of us who are sensitive or who believe in these religions that do believe that some eclipses are evil. Washing yourself in purified and blessed water helps so they say. I don't know the answer to your question. I haven't the foggiest.
