Rings Arwen
Is there any sign of romance between Arwen and Aragorn in the lord of the rings BOOK series?
I have read the books before but i can't remember if they suggest the romance or if it is purely in the movie to make it more interesting.
In the Appendix found at the end of the Return of the King book there is a whole section called the Story of Aragorn and Arwen and goes into more detail about Aragorn's life and his relationship with Arwen.
As for the actual books, there are many hints here and there of their relationship. The first I can remember is of the time when Bilbo asks why Aragorn didn't attend the first feast in Rivendell, specifically stating that, "the lady Arwen was there." One must also remember when Aragorn told the tale of Beren and Luthien to the Hobbits and wonder why he would choose such a tale. The scene in the Fellowship of the Ring when the Fellowship is in Lothlorien and Frodo turns to see Aragorn holding a flower on the hill of Cerin Amroth is especially poignant after having read what occurred on that hill approx 40 years earlier (the plighted their troth on that very spot). Aragorn also says a few words to Galadriel, something about how she keeps his treasure, which hints at Arwen since she is her granddaughter. Arwen also made Aragorn's banner and gave him his horse, which speaks of their very close relationship. Again, only little hints here and there that don't really seem to count for much until you have read their story in the Appendix. Once you have then the little hints all shout at you.
