Hedwig in Harry Potter. Will they hate me?
It all happened at the release party at a Barnes and Noble. I was among the top ten waiting in line at around 11:30ish and I was chatting away with some people I had just met that day. It was so much fun, we were joking around. Some of the jokes had to do with the deaths, and I joked that Hedwig and some other owls will contract bird flu or something and die. The boys laughed so hard and they dared me to yell it out. So I did. I screamed out something like "HEDWIG'S GONNA DIE!! SHE'LL CONTRACT BIRD FLU!!!" Of course there wasn't much laughter except from the small group of friends I made there.
And then....yeah. I go home. I start reading.

I seriously didn't know! I was only joking...you think all those people in the bookstore hate me now? TT.TT

It was an amazing prediction. Though it was a joke amongst your friends, it may sound like a spoiler to those "outside of the inside joke."
I would say that some or most people would hate to hear spoilers about the Harry Potter Series, but it wasn't your fault. It was just a coincidence.
