In the sixth Harry Potter book, Dumbledore casts a spell on Harry to Make Him not be able to move?
In the sixth Harry Potter book, Dumbledore casts a spell on Harry to make him not be able to move, even though he's under the invisibility cloak. Then, a Death Eater casts some spell and it goes 'through' Harry. Why is this?
I believe it was said in the last books that, as well as invisibility, the invisibility cloak can also protect the wearer from offending spells and things that are cast against them.
At the end of book seven, I think, during the battle of Hogwarts, Hermione, Harry and Ron are running around with the cloak on and spells are just bouncing of them.
Also, on page 333 of Deathly Hallows, we have Xenophilius Lovegood saying that the cloak remains completely impenetrable, no matter what spells are cast at it.
So I think it was the cloak. I wonder why Dumbledore's spell worked, though? Maybe because it was cast for Harry's best intrests.
