This is the blurb of a fantasy book do you like it and if so why?
The blurb:

I didn't actually write it so I don't care if you hate it! Just wanted an honest opinion (it would take to long to explain why) so thanks!
It's better-written than a lot of the drivel posted here, but apart from that, I don't like it, and it wouldn't want to make me read the book. Why? Simply because it's too vague. Apart from the bit about the pendant, it could describe about half of all the fantasy books ever written. Try substituting "Frodo Baggins" or "Harry Potter" for "I" and see if You Can tell the difference.
Put in something specific about the character and what's at stake, and why this person is the Chosen One Fated To Save The World. Then I might take notice.
The blurb on the back of the book is usually not a direct quote from the text. The blurb is usually written in third person, present tense, no matter what person and tense the book is written in.
