Night Light
is it necessary to have a night light by my birds cage?
i'm thinking about buying a lovebird, but if i change my mind i might get a cockatiel. And i will cover the cage at night because my rooms seems to be very cold at night ...but if i do this will i need a bird night light? if so then what kind?
Completely depends on the bird. I had a cockatiel that absolutely needed a night-light. He got night terrors in the dark, thrashing around in his cage and several times he hurt his wing. But I do not believe that is very common. My other cockatiel, my lovebirds and my keets were just fine in the dark. So you probably will not need a night-light. If you are keeping the bird in your room, you will hear if he has night terrors, and can adjust accordingly.
