question about witchcraft?
Can anyone recommend any books on the subject of witchcraft that are not saturated with Wiccan rules and teachings? (I already have loads of wiccan books)
I was browsing amazon.com for some books on witchcraft that talk about witchcraft as a practice, without any religious stuff attached to it. I dont believe in the "Threefold Law" and i dont need magickal ethics mixed in with how i use spells and such. So im trying to avoid wiccan authors and any other authors who frown upon using magick for "negative purposes".
any good book recommendations?

yeah. I was looking at Paul Husons 'Mastering Witchcraft' on amazon. it looks very interesting. 
but yeah, im mainly looking for something will less deity stuff in it.
Ah I hear ya. I run into the same problem when browsing threw books at the store.
You're not going to find too many books on witchcraft, and in particular books on spells, that aren't Wiccan influenced these days. The market for those books is primarily aimed at teenage girls hence book publishers are going to cater to what think will sell the most. [That's not to say there aren't good books about Wicca, because there are, just you'd have to dig for them.]
I'd suggest looking for books on Chaos Magick, Ceremonial Magick [that pre-dates Wicca], and the like. Also try reading books on magick practice in religions like Thelema or Satanism. Oh also, read up on Hoodoo practices.
Authors I would look for are: Aleister Crowley [you knew I was going to say that. 
] Lon Milo DuQuette, Peter J. Carroll, Phil Hine, etc.
Deities and the rituals used in Magick are merely focusing tools to help one achieve a strong enough desire and belief in one's Will. They are nothing more than a middle man. They are archetypes created by the individual. They can be (and are) very useful, but not needed. There's a few versions of the LBRP that involve no deities or angels. There's also an alternative set of elements instead of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, you have Space, Time, Matter and Energy. But I digress, basically my point is that You Can practice magic without deities.

To the poster below me: Kira specifically requested books that were Non-Wiccan & that focused on the practice of ritual, why are you completely ignoring that fact and recommending him books about Wiccan ethics AND giving him a lecture? Chillout dude, not everyone wants to follow your path.
And just because someone does not follow Wiccan ethics does not Make Them unethical.
