For very oily skin; Should i purchase the MAC oil control lotion or the MAC prep and prime?
My foundation and powder looks SO oily after about 4-5 hours throughout the school day. I've tried lots of different foundation also. Just liquid, liquid and powder, just powder, mineral makeup. and nothing has worked for my oil skin. So i was wondering if someone can give me a mini review on any of the two products? Also if you have any type of foundation that works good for oily skin let me know.
If you're set on using a MAC product, I would try the MAC Oil Control Lotion. Personally it didn't work that great for me as far as oil absorption goes, but it was a decent light weight moisturizer. The MAC Prep & Primer did absolutely nothing except cost a fortune. I too have super oily skin, and have tried an insane amount of products to try to get rid of it. I've recently discovered 4 products that work better than anything I've ever found. These keep oil away pretty much all day long, and work best when applied in the order listed: 1) Dr Brandt Pores No More Pore Effect 2) Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Foundation 3) Mattify Oil Absorbing Loose Powder 4) Model in a Bottle Makeup Setting Spray.
The Dr Brandt Pore Effect is an amazing moisturizer that controls oil while keeping pores clean with tea tree and salicylic acid. Apply before you apply foundation for soft skin with minimized pores. The Estee Lauder Max Cover Foundation is a super light weight makeup packed with pigment, so you only need to use a little bit to cover any imperfection, acne or freckles. The Mattify Oil Absorbing Powder is a great secret weapon to fight oil. You Can actually apply both immediately before and after foundation for added oil control. It's totally transparent, so it doesn't leave your skin feeling cakey and heavy like some colored powders do. Great for a touch-up too, as long as you pat it on your skin (don't rub). It won't disturb your foundation, but will give you a poreless matte finish. Model in a Bottle is a setting spray that you mist over your face after applying all of your makeup at the beginning of the day. It allows all of your makeup to be transfer resistant and combats oil too. This is especially great for summer weather, or time at the beach, when you don't want makeup running down your face!
Hope these tips help you out! Since I've been using this routine, I went from having to use oil blotting papers every single hour to only doing 2 touch-ups per 10 hour day with the clear Mattify Powder.
