Mental Magic
Pagans, magic is about imagination and other mental skills, right?
Theoretically, you could use "non-pagan" sources just as much as "pagan" sources to boost those skills (ie. by raising self-esteem), right?
"Magic" in such religions as Wicca is about setting intentions. There are too many pagan sources to go into detail, but sticking with the most widely known of the neo-pagan:
A Wiccan casts a spell, which is more like a prayer, to a specific god/goddess to bring to them what they need to succeed. Strength for an upcoming hardship, wisdom for an upcoming test, courage for an upcoming family reunion. 
For instance.
I would not call it imagination, but there are some spells which ask you to visualize you already succeeding... Again, All About intent. Not unlike many self help books do, "visualize success" and all that. So, the short answer is, yes, things like psychology and Mind Body techniques can offer the same sort of support as religion - but that goes for ALL religion, not just pagan ones.
