Can someone help me with a haunted site?
What can you guys held me with getting information about Magnolia Lane Plantation in either Louisiana or New Orleans with a voodoo trickster god was it? What's the story behind the hauntings that go on there? What happened there that made it so horiffic?
I heard something else about a scarecrow, what does that have to do with it?
Sorry. But Lorie's answer is wrong. She is referring to the Myrtles Plantation. Magnolia Plantation was supposedly owned by a Union officer and used as a confederate prisoner of war site. He was extremely cruel and hated the confederates. The prisoners and slaves worked together by trying to drive him insane by using voodoo. He suspected that they were up to something and took them out into the yard and hung 200 in that one night. It was some time later that he supposedly went to his room and hung himself. The home is also suppose to be built on the site of an indian burial ground. The trickster god that you are referring to is named Gede. There is a voodoo alter on the site and when you visit you leave an offering on the alter to insure your safety after you leave.
