if a gargoyle tattoo is covered with clothing will it still do it's purpose?
i want a gargoyle tattoo eventually on my upper leg but it will basically never be visible and i want it for it's purpose. (protecting against evil spirits) normally they are to be seen in fairly visible areas so would it be better to get in a visible area or does it matter? (i basically have all areas of my arms and hands i want tattooed figured out so there's no room in a visible area except for my neck and i dont really want it there)
before you call me crazy let me just say i am spiritual in a sense and i have felt the presence of evil spirits since i was a child and this would just give me peace of mind.

I would say no.
The very definition of a gargoyle involves it being seen by the spirits. There are runes and symbols which are meant to protect from spirits which do not have to be seen. Some are even meant to be hidden. I would recommend researching those and using something other than a gargoyle.
If part of the choice was because you like gargoyles then get gargoyle tshirts, and jewelry, and a bumper sticker.
