Fairy Cat
Modern twist to a fairy tale?
My favorite fairy tale of all time is Snow White and for school we need to come up with a 'twisted fairy tale' that changes up the charactors and the plot but still leaves the original story recagnizable. I wish I could do Beauty and the Geek as mine but every1 would call me a copy cat because of the TV show. Does anyone have any ideas for me on what I could write? I've also considered twisting Jack and the Beanstalk but I don't know what to do!!
I would not do Snow White because people will probably end up telling you that its too much like Sydney White (not because you copied it but because you can't change the characters).
Maybe you could pick out a fairy tale that not a lot of people know about...
How about The Princess and the Pea: fairly well known but not too Disney-ized.

You could write every other chapter from opposing views, like from the Princesses and the Princes (but it might be easier to stick with the princess).
So, the prince is obviously the most good looking, perfect guy in the school. and there are a lot of really pretty, popular girls that like him, but he eventually sees that they are not really princesses, but witches and gargoyles or whatever.
so, then, one day there is a terrible storm somewhere. The 'princess's' house is flooded and destroyed, or something, so she has to go stay at her aunts house. She starts school at the same place as the Prince.
The prince notices her immediately because she is very pretty, but he is not sure if she is a true 'princess' so he asks her to go out on a date with him, and while they are walking around in his large, romantic backyard, he has placed a single earring of one of the evil girls in her path: she sees it, shrieks (upset that the relic of one of the evil girls is in the princes backyard), he explains and she isnt upset anymore: he declares her a true princess. They kiss and live happily ever after.
