Druid Faerie
Help needed. Information on Dryad practices?
I'm sorry to bother but I need help finding resources of rituals and practices of the Dryad tradition. There isn't much written about it. It's acknowledged by many as a tradition, but almost no information is provided. I know this won't be met well by either side, but I'm combining my catholic beliefs with that of the Dryad. I don't want people saying it cannot be done, because it can. I really need help finding this information. I follow the holidays of both calendars, understand what is involved in the catholic faith, and know that the Dryad tradition is involved with druidic practices and some faery lore, so I've been looking under celtic religious practices, mainly Druid. I really feel that this Dryad path is calling to me. Please, don't tell me that it can't be done, that I shouldn't bother, or that I'm wrong in my own beliefs. Please, just help me find my information. I finally feel like I have found my path, and I just want to make sure. Much help is appreciated. Thank you!
Well, the female druids were, well, just called druids. The Irish word for them, ban-drui, literally means "woman druid." You'll probably have more luck looking for details about druidry.
If you're looking to merge Christian and Celtic faith, some of the druidic organizations such as OBOD take that sort of approach. Most of the modern druid groups focus on Paganism and might not be terribly supportive of your attempts to merge the two, but there are some that likely would.
As an FYI, I'd recommend caution while looking for sources - there's a lot of BS out there that folks are trying to pass off as "authentic Celtic knowledge", unfortunately. Don't immediately believe everything you read.
