Dragon Age Origins: Is the Blood Dragon Armor any good? And when in the game can you get it?
I'm going to Buy DAO very soon... and I've realized the Blood Dragon Armor code comes free with the box. Is this armor any good? And is it available at the very start of the game? If not, when is it available?
Yes, it's pretty good, but it requires plenty of strength to be able to wear it (I think it's around 38 strength). My warrior used it from when she could finally use it, till the end of the game. There are a few rare armors that had higher defense ratings on them, but I preferred the effects of the armor (plus its look) to the other ones for my character.
You actually get a portion of the armor as soon as you start the game with the download activated, even if you are starting a new game. You get the breastplate/greaves right away, while the rest of the armor can be bought cheap (only 3 gold each or so) from a trader in your party camp after leaving the city of Lothering early in the game.
