Why can't people accept that Christianity is Mythology?
There are so many weird Mythological creatures and happenings in the Bible, so why haven't people accepted that it's not real?
Example:
Talking Snake in Genesis
Talking bushes, dragons, Witches, people transforming into Salt etc....people walking on water, parting it, turning it into wine etc...
Mythology is "a body of myths, as that of a particular people or that relating to a particular person."
A myth is "any invented story, idea, or concept"
Well a decent amount of Christianity (new testament wise) is historically accurate. (although there are minor discrepancies in the different points of views as told by the disciples of Jesus.)
Secondly who's to say that Jesus was speaking literally, or the disciples were speaking literally, for all we known he good have been giving advice just like Confucius was in ancient china (although somewhat prophetic.) (I'm talking about the new testament simply because you stated Christianity which is more new testament based.)
Finally the main reason people might not accept Christianity as mythology is because it is so far embedded into society, our laws and sense of ethics are based on the bible.
Now in my opinion I personally don't care if a religion sounds stupid or idiotic, if it doesn't affect you why care?
