Diamond Cut
Is any1 out there familiar with how to DIAMOND CUT your motorcycle heads? The technique & tools used?
I want 2 diamond cut my motorcycle heads at home this winter but have been unable to find the "HOW TO" anywhere. Does anyone know how to go about doing this or at the very least where to look for the info needed? Thanks
You Can do it by hand with a die grinder and a cutting wheel, either carbide or tool steel. . (NOT a CUT OFF wheel)
Air grinders are easier to use but you have to have a big enough compressor to run it.
You could probably use a Dremel with the 'V' grooving carbide bit but it will take longer to get the look you want
Takes a couple of hours per head/cylinder but it saves you about $400.00 bucks. You can also do patterns in the diamond pattern, just draw it out with a sharpie first.
Its also way easier to do if you dismantle head and cylinders off engine so you get effect all round and not just on outside edges
If its done with a milling machine it would have to be CNC.
