Ceramic Unicorn
Is it okay to put ceramic decorations in my fish tank?
I want to put a ceramic unicorn in my betta's tank. It has no paint on it other than it's eyes are painted black. Will it be okay to put in the tank?
Usually, it's fine.
The only problem would be if the glaze or paint on the ornament contains lead or other toxic heavy metals. This is especially a problem if your water's pH is below 7.0, because metals are much more soluble in acid water than in basic water.
... But one small decoration probably won't be a problem.
Whether or not your betta will like it is a whole other question.
