A fairy with ugly brown wings wants to be like all the other fairies that have colourful wings.
I don't want her to get the wings she wants. I want her to stay the same but love the wings she has.
but how do i get her to love the wings she has?

They helped her get through the climax, she was able to hide in the brush from the evil dude because her wings weren't bright and flashy or they help her fly faster than other fairies or something. If something helps you out of a tight spot you gain a sort of affection for them.
